The Ring Eyed Dottyback (Pseudoplesiops typus), also known as the Hidden Dottyback, is notorious for hiding and being elusive. Its colors can range from a deep red or orange in males, and a pink or white in females. They reach a maximum size of 3 inches and are a great addition in nano reef tanks. They are carnivorous, and require a meaty diet, typically consisting of mysis or krill. While they may be territorial towards tankmates, they are typically peaceful and reclusive. They should not be housed with small prized crustaceans or larger predatory fish.
