Mexican Turbo Snail Care Facts

Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Peaceful
Diet: Omnivore
Reef Safe: Yes
Minimum Tank Size: 5 Gallons
Max Size: 2 inches
The Mexican Turbo Snail, Turbo fluctuosus, native to the waters off the coast of Mexico, is an excellent algae-eater and beneficial tank member. They are best housed in established reef tanks with plenty of live rock and away from aggressive tank mates. As scavengers they will eat algae, diatoms, and Cyanobacteria found around the tank and in the sand. Like most snails, once introduced the Mexican Turbo Snail requires no explicit care. Because of this and their beneficial nature, the Mexican Turbo Snail, and similar species, are recommended for any reef tank.

Snails do exactly what snails do. They eat constantly. Great for algae control and will devour seaweed.

Snails arrived in no water and it scared me but they turned out to be fine and started eating within 24 hours. Healthy decent snails, mine were about .75 of an inch in size.
