The Cortez Starfish (Pentaceraster cumingi), also known as the Panamic Cushion Star, can be found among the Eastern Pacific Ocean and Hawaii. They are typically found in rocky, sub-tidal zones, where they scavenge for crustaceans and mollusks to eat. They have a grey or brown body with bright red spikes along the top of their body. They are not suitable for reef aquarium, as they will predate on some corals. They are best kept in tank of at least 40 gallons with plenty of live rock and sand.
